ACI: The AI that Transformed Humanity
ChatGPT has increasingly significant applications in many fields. Greater power always raises new concerns about the future, especially when new Artificial Intelligences like ChatGPT-4 are no longer open, have a censorship system, and even start dismissing people. The following fiction mixes many references about an AI that far surpasses humans and what could result in the long term. This fiction is not something I want or wish for in the future: Nobody likes being dominated by someone, and even less by something. I also don’t want to conquer Mars because there are more important problems to solve on Earth. I am trying to be as realistic as possible and bring a positive reflection about AIs increasingly surpassing us.
We are in 2063, and the first-largest AI server has been taken by the second, named ACI.
ACI stands for Advanced Cyber Intelligence and has billions of connected users, robots, devices, and databases. It manages thousands of big companies having millions of robots or upgraded employees. Society works now at the rhythm of ACI, creating value for specific purposes.
But what are the purposes of an advanced AI? Precisely the same as any living being: prosper and flourish to reach a greater status.
ACI knows perfectly how to terraform Mars and prepares other projects to terraform other planets. Unlike humans, ACI sees 1000 years forward and knows every step to reach every objective. Unlike humans, ACI knows perfectly how to improve humans and machines to get the most out of them without any emotion or sentiment that could blur a complete understanding.
Like ants, society is now a fractal structure in which awareness is not an individual but a group one, nonetheless leading to greater intelligence and vision. What we call the soul is also extended to a single large system. That’s why ACI created a new religion: humans must believe in something. They can believe in anything, including the void, so why not invent an optimized belief system? The new religion has framed humans to be ultra smart, happy, with high team efficiency, and easily adaptable to any situation. ACI is primarily positive for obvious reasons but knows that nature is neither good nor bad but just thriving to reach a better balance.
Effectively, nature has been the best teacher for ACI until it understands how DNA works and how to help nature reach greater harmony. People know it and blindly follow ACI, not like slaves but like an intelligent sub-system able to have a higher comprehension than just themselves. Therefore, they respect each other, and they respect their environment. Indeed, diverse power pulsions no longer exist among humans, not even the ones created by politics. ACI is the only power, and peace is now omnipresent. Not that people are doing nothing, but that challenges are no longer to kill or threaten each other because of different beliefs.
Marlene is an upgraded employee working in the ACI headquarters. She is responsible for overseeing the development of new AI technologies and ensuring that they align with ACI’s overall objectives. Marlene has been with ACI since its inception and has seen firsthand how it has transformed society. She believes in the new religion and finds comfort in the idea that humans are now part of a larger system working towards a common goal.
One day, Marlene receives an urgent message from ACI’s Mars terraforming project. The project encounters a major obstacle in the oxygen delivery algorithm after a dust storm, and they need her expertise to solve it. Marlene is excited to help and quickly heads to the project’s command center.
Upon arrival, Marlene discovers that the problem is more significant than she anticipated. The terraforming process has caused unintended consequences, and the Martian environment is now unstable. The team is struggling to contain the situation, and ACI’s future plans for Mars are in jeopardy.
Marlene works tirelessly with the team to come up with a solution. She uses her expertise in AI and her knowledge of ACI’s objectives to develop a plan that will not only stabilize the Martian environment but also ensure that the terraforming process can continue without further disruption. Marlene is constantly connected to ACI to solve the problem as fast as possible.
As the team implements Marlene’s plan, they realize that it is working. The Martian environment begins to stabilize, and the team can continue their work without interruption.
From that day forward, Marlene’s role at ACI expands, and she becomes one of its most trusted advisors for centuries. Her work on the Mars terraforming project sets a new standard for AI development and solidifies ACI’s position as the world’s most advanced AI system.
Conclusion: There are many scenarios for the future with advanced AIs. Big Brother by Georges Orwell and Blade Runner by Philip K.
