AI is steadily surpassing numerous human boundaries. Where will this trajectory take us? How do we navigate and adapt to this emerging paradigm?

For more than a century, we’ve been living in a world where technology is increasingly crucial. This enables us to meet basic and essential needs such as transportation or heating, reaching unimaginable heights through AI. Engineers are at the forefront of these advancements, constantly inventing and improving technology as if they must move forward, regardless of sociological and economic consequences.

Artificial Intelligence is no exception and generates both enthusiasm and fear. The reason is simple: AI surpasses human capabilities to incredible levels. As humans, we constantly seek evolution and learning. Many of us strive for a form of mastery or excellence resulting from lengthy and often challenging learning.

However, our learning is confined by our environment and our brains. We still possess access to the real world, which AI only partially comprehends. Nevertheless, this phenomenon is undergoing a reversal. Various sensors, social networks, algorithms, and information systems are becoming increasingly interconnected, providing a substantial amount of data that enhances AI learning.

Even though AI lacks “tangible” access to reality, it compensates for this deficiency with numerous partial pieces of knowledge. This is how ChatGPT came into existence, not due to one but many textual sources. Diversifying sources constructs a reality more reliable than the individual reality each of us perceives.

This dynamic will persist in the coming years. It is inevitable, and we must acknowledge it to adapt better. In addition, greater and greater mastery of reality by AI will ultimately lead to surpassing human excellence.

Robotics will benefit greatly from these new capabilities, which can imagine millions of scenarios even in 3D. I’m not making this up: this video from Ayush Tewari, a postdoctoral researcher at MIT’s CSAIL, shows how mere 2D images can already envision scenarios in 3D accurately.

Once robots master 3D perception like us, there will be new ranges of services directly impacting the real world.

So the main question will not be about which areas AI will replace humans (this is becoming very clear) but instead how AI will benefit us beyond what we already know, surpassing our imagination.

Increase creativity

So, in addition to developing our knowledge, we must cultivate our imagination. AI already helps us be more creative with services like Midjourney, ChatGPT, and Grok.

Grok is even capable of self-humor. Humor is one of the most challenging things to generate with AI because it requires a lot of data intricately processed to achieve a subtle result.

That’s why the main challenge I face today as a Data Scientist is surpassing the services I develop by offering functions that go beyond users’ needs.

This situation is both motivating and frustrating because we know we can access immense opportunities without being able to see them. That’s what I call “the elephant in the room.” It’s there, immense and obvious, but no one sees it due to a lack of perception and imagination.

To see it, AI can give precious pieces of advice thanks to its randomness and creativity. For example, you can ask: “Provide completely random ideas for an awesome <your service>.” or “<your current service description>. Give 5 random ideas to improve greatly this service.” or “Imagine the future of <your service>.”

In addition, we have to constantly question the functions or services we are doing with the market and, at the same time, create a long-term vision. Note that AI can significantly help by analyzing research documents, studying the market state of the art, and providing you with the necessary steps to reach a vision. I’m not claiming to have the magic recipe for success, but I’m sure that if excellence is achieved through many trials and errors, the same goes for imagination. Create an AI super team

Many companies fear that AI will eventually take over their activities, at least partially. This concern is based on the efficient tasks already performed by tools such as ChatGPT or Midjourney, though they are not the only ones. There are over 10,000 AI Tools available today, and many of them have achieved incredible levels of service. Mastering AI tools is becoming increasingly necessary to remain competitive and deliver excellent services.

Numerous tools are either free or available at an affordable price. Conducting some investigation in the AI tools aggregator will help you identify those that could significantly enhance your business. From team management to email writing, a variety of tasks can be accomplished using the tools in this list.

Embrace complexity

Unfortunately, no job is guaranteed to be secure as AI becomes increasingly powerful. The value of many basic IT tasks has already diminished due to AI, and its capability to handle complex tasks will continue to grow. That’s why it is crucial to enhance your value by integrating more AI-powered services. Effectively, AI offers more opportunities to deal with complex problems, which extends the range of action, overall for small teams. This applies not only to web services but also to any business related to knowledge in any form.

This challenge becomes particularly pronounced when dealing with intricate AI structures while striving to deliver a simple and efficient service to customers. User experience is, of course, at the core of next-gen AI services, adapting various complex algorithms to meet user needs in the simplest way possible.

AI is continually improving and challenging numerous individuals about their future. This evolution will continue in the years ahead, reaching unimaginable heights. We must adapt, enhancing not only our skills but also our imagination to create incredible services with the help of AI.
